Computerization and automation of the educational systems at the beginning of the XXI century
Abstract
The paper presents and characterizes the most important trends in the development of the modern system of university education in a global perspective, facing the necessity and challenges. The challenges facing higher education, due to the significant enlargement of quantitative tasks and the need to absorb new technologies related to ICT and the Internet. Paper describes the process of the creation and growth of open and virtual universities. Presents data on the unprecedented increase in the number of students and their mobility, and the attempts to automate the process of teaching and reduce the role of teachers.
